Sunday 120212
Two of our Top 5 finishers, Catelyn and TJ! Want to say thanks to all the competitors and thanks especially to Louis and Laura who spent 3.5 hours compiling the data.
Great efforts by all, we’ll put the total standings out shortly.
I hope this has been a rewarding experience for everybody and you continue to put practice the habits that we trained you in over the last five weeks.
PS. Show up.

Congratulations to whoever the winners are! Had to leave by 5:30 so I didn’t hear who won. But ultimately, everybody made it through the whole thing and that’s something to be proud of.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who brought food. I never thought berries and cream (which I later learned was coconut cream) could taste so good. Very happy to see progress from before to after (403 to 467).

Congrats to all the winners! I had the red velvet cheesecake at rustico last night and it tasted darn good… Back to paleo today though!

For those who asked….
Buffalo Chicken Meatballs
12 tablespoons unsalted grass fed butter
1 cup Frank’s RedHot Sauce or any other favorite hot sauce
1 pound pasture raised ground chicken
1 large egg
1 celery stalk, minced (smaller the better)
1/4 small onion, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup packed parsley, chopped
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Drizzle the oil into a 9×13-inch baking dish and use your hand to evenly coat the entire surface. Set aside.
Cook the onion and celery on medium high until soft, about 5 minutes.
Combine the butter and hot sauce in a small saucepan on med-high and cook until slightly thickened about 10 minutes. Set aside and cool for 10 minutes. Combine the 1/3 cup hot sauce mixture, ground chicken, egg, celery, onion, and salt in a large mixing bowl and mix by hand until thoroughly incorporated.
Roll the mixture into round, 3/4 -inch balls, making sure to pack the meat firmly. Place the balls in the prepared baking dish, being careful to line them up snugly and in even rows vertically and horizontally to form a grid. The meatballs should be touching one another.
Roast for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked.

Witty- I would have tried the buffalo chicken balls but cheech saw an unidentified male participant drip sweat into the dish…
I know…I’m a prick…but I just couldn’t bring myself to say something on Saturday…

@Kristin L.-Great job on Saturday! Thank you for being a great partner and counting for me. Your support helped through the last WOD. Mucho gracias!

Great times with the Challenge — doesn’t hurt that my man got 5th! The community support was essential to my sticking with it. No way could I have eliminated all that bad stuff without your backing. I’m a freak at work now, but know they are just jealous. Sucks that a few inches off at the waist makes me look dumpy in my suits. Anyone know a good tailor?!
February 14th, 2012 on 10:11 am
So I had a physical yesterday. Turns out I lost 15 pounds and my cholesterol is a good as it’s ever been. And I second @KymEsco’s question about a tailor. The waists on my pants desperately need to be brought in. I look like a hobo with them all cinched up.

re: Tailor. Aaron at Clarendon Valet is tops. I use him for everything!

@ Brian PCF Are the before and after photos posted somewhere? And the full rankings?
February 15th, 2012 on 11:15 am
We’re working on the photos and data. This is a very long process to sort and email all photos and to put the data into a digestible format.
We’re working diligently to get it done ASAP. Hopefully by Friday.

I grabbed a baking dish and a glass serving bowl at the end of the Paleo Challenge.
These are clean and at my house. Please email me so I can get them back to you.

Thank you to Louis for his work on this! Is there an explanation of the rankings/placements (trying to figure out the column values)? Also, will there be a ranking for the women?
The Challenge really inspired to eat better so time for more bacon!

Here’s a cleaned up version. Again thanks to Louis for all his work on this. Go get your car washed at Sonic Soft in Falls Church.
