Alison’s Apple Braised Pork Loin
A big part of the Paleo Challenge is changing how you understand food at a very basic level. We want a “diet” that becomes habit, but that you also look forward to. Cooking new dishes and sharing them with friends and family is a big part of that.
Have you experienced change in how you feel about eating and how you eat?

I am not sure if this has been brought up before, but I am having trouble staying asleep the entire night. I am going to bed early enough so I am getting at least 8 hours, but will wake up in the middle of the night and cannot fall back asleep. Has anyone experienced anything similar or, Brian, do you have any advice?

@Catelyn – what’s your starch intake?

This is an interesting idea, and it happened to be what I was writing my blog post about.

Brian, at least a fist size a day… usually I have some sweet potato after the morning workout and sometimes at dinner.

Add a serving for dinner daily and let me know if that. Ganges things.

I read labels more now, and I’m shocked about what is in our food. I looked at a salsa label and there were three different type of preservatives. So I thought, I’ll just make my own.
I heard a trainer on a show say: “If it rots quickly, it’s good for you.” So hello veggies.
General question: How do you convince someone to join CrossFit? I’ve tried to convince a few friends to try a free class, but they say: I need to get into shape to go. Any suggestions?

@Catlyn – add a serving of starch each night at dinner and let me know if things change.
@Niki – we’re starting the free class again next weekend, Sunday at 12:30. That’s the best way to get somebody to sign up.

@Niki…if you figure that out, please spread the word! In my experience, that particular reason usually means “I’m really not interested. Really.” Also translated as – “I don’t want to work that hard,” “I’m not deperate enough to try something new,” “I want to bitch about it but have my brownies and wine every night,” and “those people look weird and i don’t want any part of it!”
Very rarely does it mean – “Looks cool, but I don’t think I’m good enough to join” If that was the real reason, a quick assurance that everyone can do it and what’s the harm in attending a free class? usually does it. Good luck!
